Rehabilitation Exercise Session

FAQ

What to expect at your first physiotherapy appointment?

At PhysioCare Studio, your first physiotherapy appointment is focused on understanding the root cause of your symptoms — not just treating one painful area.

We begin with a detailed discussion about your pain, movement, lifestyle, medical history and daily activities. Whether you are coming for TMJ therapy, child rehabilitation, women’s health physiotherapy, scar therapy or general physiotherapy in PhysioCare Studio, every assessment is tailored to our Patient as an individual.

Your session may include:

  • movement and posture assessment

  • joint and muscle examination

  • breathing and tension patterns

  • hands-on treatment

  • personalised exercises and advice

We believe education is an important part of recovery, so we explain everything clearly and simply throughout the appointment.

Please wear comfortable clothing and bring any relevant medical reports or scan results if you have them.

Our aim is to help you feel comfortable, listened to and supported from your very first visit.

Do I need a GP referral for physiotherapy?

No - you do not need a GP referral to book a physiotherapy appointment at PhysioCare Studio.

Many people choose private physiotherapy to access treatment more quickly and start addressing their symptoms sooner. You can book directly whether you are experiencing jaw pain, muscle tension, pregnancy-related discomfort, postnatal issues, your child muscles weakness or low muscles tone, balance and coordination difficulties
or your baby postural concerns.

If you have any scan reports, medical letters or test results, you are welcome to bring them to your appointment, but they are not essential.

If we feel you would benefit from further medical assessment or additional support, we will always explain this clearly and help guide you in the right direction.

How many physiotherapy sessions will I need?

The number of physiotherapy sessions you may need depends on your symptoms, how long the problem has been present and your individual goals.

Some people notice improvement after just 1–3 sessions, while longer-term or more complex conditions may require ongoing treatment and support over a longer period.

At PhysioCare Studio, we focus on understanding the root cause of your symptoms rather than offering the same treatment plan to everyone. Your physiotherapy sessions are always tailored to your body, lifestyle and recovery goals.

Factors that can affect recovery include:

  • how long symptoms have been present

  • stress and lifestyle factors

  • sleep and daily habits

  • previous injuries or surgeries

  • consistency with exercises and advice

During your first appointment, we will discuss a realistic treatment plan and explain what we recommend based on your assessment.
